The Women of HerStory- Transformative Dance Theatre

  • Dorin, 60

is Venue Manager for the historic Majestic Theater, an avid live music superfan and caregiver and lover of all creatures furry and feathered.

    HERstory:

“I tell my own story of not being a dancer growing up until one day in my 50’s a Groupon and a wild hair changed my life: A journey from shy beginnings and uncertainties, into a true love story that became my heart and soul…”

  • Katie Rose

    Katie Rose, 31

is a highly awarded competitor and Certified Pole Instructor. She lives with her Dad, “Super”Mom and three furry best friends in Ft. Worth.

    Herstory:

“Being a person with autism, ADHD and epilepsy can be really hard. It’s hard to find people to connect with and who get me and let me be me. Because I LOVE to pole dance and celebrate my body, many times people don’t understand. They can even give me attention that treats me like less than what I am. That’s what my song is about.”

Look for Katie’s “WERKSHOP” at our studio this summer.

  • Carolyn, 67

is a newly married and retired esthetician. She has been dancing with Heather for 15 years through the many ups and downs of life.

    HerStory:

“I learned the power that music and free dancing had for healing while I was waiting on my late husband to come out of emergency surgery. I was left in a private room with only P!nk to comfort me, and comfort me she did! And then along came all 10 Erotic Creatures to express themselves, and that's where the magic happened! I am excited to free dance again with P!nk, but this time being held in your Circle of Light! Dance heals; that's ’All I Know So Far!’”

  • Robin, 31

enjoys getting to know herself, deep, thought-provoking conversations, road trips, quiet nights at home with her cat, karaoke, the sound of rain in the night, and anything that gives her the giggles. Through pole dance and SFactor she found connection with her body, deeper authenticity and her fiery flow.

    HerStory:

“I am sharing my recent expansion in both self-reliance and spirituality. After a series of deeply trying circumstances, I have discovered the reservoir of stillness within me and the magic of spiritual connection.”

I occasionally share my practice on Instagram, @diesel.and.molasses.

The Women of HerStory - Transformative Dance Theatre

  • Kiki, 49

lives with the love of her life, her 2 kids and her cat. She co-parents with her children’s dad like a champ and has been a School Social Worker for 16 years. Her medicine is dance, podcasts, sisterhood and going to the bathroom- as it is where she can find a moment of peace. Hah. But not haha.

    HerStory:

”Our dance ‘herformance’ is feeding a desire in me to step out of my comfort zone, a pull to see how it feels to be a 1 woman show for 15 minutes, and to have fun while I’m at it. This feels like a brave adventure in shaking off some old stories about forcing myself to fit in and opening up to the wonder of me NOW…with all my layers, with sisterhood support and y’all as witnesses in my evolution.”

  • Jamie, 40

Lives with her husband and two cats in Dallas. She is a lifelong dancer and a pole dancer since 2019. She is an XPERT certified instructor, a National Academy of Sports Medicine Nutrition Coach and owns Self Alchemy Studio.

    HerStory:

“As women, it is often forgotten by others and ourselves that we have multiple roles in life, facets to our personalities and traits we need to embrace and let emerge. We cannot and should not be just one of these things, but it is all of them that come together to make us the beautiful beings we are. It is the people who truly love us who also embrace all of us.”

  • Heather Angell, 53

is the founder of Woman’s Werk Studio and ImaginEducation, LLC. She is a mama, wife and circle holder for reclamation, integration and celebration of the Divine Feminine.

    HerStory:

“I am sharing my story that is actually the inspiration for our HerStory “Herformance - the tragedy and triumph of my mom and sister having Huntington’s Disease. This literal ‘dancing with what IS’ opens our capacity for the transformational power of sublimating our darkest of moments through artistic expression. When we can authentically BE with ourselves and allow ourselves to be held by spirit and loving energy, we can tell a story so uniquely our own, it’s universal: A story of being human, of honest emotions and being powerful in our vulnerability. Your healing is my healing and my healing is yours.”
